Pistol Shooter 1: Fear Mitigation and Fundamentals

Course Description
This is Left of Center Gun School’s signature course. This course provides firearms training for anyone who wants to learn how to safely handle and shoot a handgun, whether they currently own one or ever intend to. Our pistol course is a hands-on, boutique, full-day experience that utilizes an array of slide action semi-automatic and revolver style handguns, state-of-the-art laser engagement training aids, and creative and entertaining multimedia. Completion of an optional on-line self-study component provides eligibility to qualify for a nationally recognized certification. We only take 4 clients at a time, are newbie-friendly and start from the absolute beginning with fear mitigation. By the end of the course, you will be operating and firing a handgun comfortably, safely, confidently, and with expertise. The course culminates with a trip to the firing range. Whether or not you choose to shoot for the optional certification, we’ll provide one-on-one live-fire coaching while you have fun shooting 100 rounds at the local range.

• 6-7 hours of group instruction. (Lunch provided!)
• 100-page California-specific gun information handbook and a thumb drive of extras for you to keep.
• An array of firearms for your use both in training and on the range.
• Use of state-of-the-art laser engagement and computer assisted training aids.
• Use of multiple magazines and magazine speed loaders.
• Use of top-quality eye protection and electronic noise canceling hearing protection.
• Live-fire coaching with free unlimited number of official targets.
• Opportunity to take your California Firearms Safety Certificate (FSC) test.

Optional Online Self-Study
For an additional $40.00, we offer an optional online component that augments the live training.  It takes approximately 6 hours to complete but you may log in as many times as you like and pick up where you left off.  It provides two important benefits:

1) It is excellent precursor material.

2) Completing the online self-study makes the participant eligible for an NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting nationally recognized certification after completion of our live training and successful qualification on the range.
