Pistol Shooter Workshop

If you are currently a handgun owner or intend to become one, this workshop is one of the most beneficial training sessions Left of Center Gun School currently offers you. The course is conducted on a private outdoor range at Burro Canyon Shooting Park in Azusa, CA and focuses on taking your gun-slinger skills to a whole new level. Bring your own gun or use one of ours. Either way, the course is ultimately aimed at getting you confident and fully independent with it. If you intend to keep a gun in your home for self-defense, then Pistol Shooter Workshop is a must do.

Course Description
We meet at Burro Canyon Shooting Park in Azusa, CA promptly at 9:30AM to check in and register. Shooting begins at 10AM. After a detailed range safety briefing, we thoroughly review your handgun basics (command grip, two-hand grip, loading and indexing mags, hold control, sight picture, breath control, trigger squeeze, and follow through). We shoot a few warm-up mags, then learn how to accelerate our shots in preparation for the cool stuff that comes next. We practice rapid mag changes, immediate action drills for clearing the weapon when it jams, one handed shooting, and rapid shooting including “double-taps” and “triple-taps.” Following a relaxing lunch break under the shade of the overhead pavilion, we move on to point-shooting. Point-shooting involves hitting man-sized targets at home defense distances without using the gun sights. The culminating exercise of the day puts together all the skills you’ve learned into the one quick reaction drill you absolutely need for home defense.
